Glen F. Standlee was born on March 23, 1926, in Jacktown, and departed this life on Monday, September 13, 2010, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. Glen, the son of William Rice and Maud Louella (Brasiel) Standlee, was a life-long resident of the Meeker area. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in Central Europe during World War II. He married Mary Wilma Ellison on August 31, 1946, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Glen was a dairy farmer and a Deacon for over 30 years of the Aydelotte Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill, Earn, Tom and Clifford; two sisters, Dorothy Rigney and Dora Finley; and one grandchild, Felicia Bogges. Survivors include his wife of 64 years,Wilma Standlee of Parkland Manor Nursing Home in Prague; son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Ann Standlee of Midwest City; daughter, Betty Baker of Oklahoma City; sisters, Elzora Kelley of Norman; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at Aydelotte Church of Christ in Shawnee with Elder Vernon L. Markwell and Elder Harold L. Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Rossville Cemetery northwest of Meeker. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
