Gladys Marie Underwood was born on December 6, 1912, in Paden, OK, and departed this life on Monday, September 5, 2005, in Prague, OK, at the age of 92. Gladys, the daughter of G. R. and Frances Walker Smith, was a long-time resident of Prague. She married William Clyde Underwood on February 4, 1931 in Prague. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1974. Gladys worked as a Supply Technician at Tinker Air Force Base. She was a long-time member of the Prague United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. Gladys was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Bobby Smith, Gordon Smith, Vester Smith, Roy Smith, and Charlie Smith; three sisters, Jennie Simmons, Visa Rankin, and Dee Passmore; nine nephews, and two nieces. Survivors include nephews and their wives, Carl and Babe Smith of California, Virgil and Ann Cooper of Drumright, Glen and Nita Smith of Enid, Bob and Ruth Smith of Prague, Jerry and Sharon Smith of Prague, Sammy and Linda Smith of Prague, Herbert and Sue Smith of Prague, Hubert and Donna Smith of Prague; nieces and their husbands, Opal Hampton of Oklahoma City, Norma Passmore of Texas, Carley and Edwin Day of Great Bend, KS, Joyce and Gene Ellison of Prague, Frances and T.J. Simek of Prague, Sue and Deryl Schima of Prague, Mindy and Danny Calger of Prague, Zelda Jordan of Paden, Karen and Kenneth Mayfield of Paden; many other relatives and a host of friends.
