Gilmer Bradley Bowen was born in Duffield, Virginia on September 12, 1926 and departed this life in Meeker, Oklahoma on August 12, 2004. He was 77 years of age. Gilmer was the son of William Henry and Nina Zelma Bowen. He was married to Nola Learlene Wilkerson on July 4, 1948 in Meeker. She preceded him in death on October 14, 1984. Mr. Bowen was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1981 after working there for over thirty-five years. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two grandsons, Huck Bowen and Shannon Crownover. He had been a resident of Meeker most of his life. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Jimmie Bowen, Chandler; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna & Gene Gilbreth, Meeker, Janie & Jay Phillips, Catoosa, Brenda Crownover, Meeker; two brothers, Earl & Billie Fay Bowen, Seminole, Tommy & Bobbie Bowen, Meeker; one sister, Alberta Funk, Washington; 6 grandchildren, Donnie Gilbreth, Dusty Gilbreth, Stacy Crownover, Schrae Rainey, Lacey Phillips, Christie Storie; 8 great grandchildren, Bowdie Gibreth, Megan Gilbreth, Hunter Gilbreth, Scott Gilbreth, Dalton Crownover, Dylan Guinn, Hailey Storie, and Zoey Storie.
