Gerald Joe "Jerry" Henson

Gerald Joe 'Jerry' Henson, age 70, of Oklahoma City, OK, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 10, 2010, after a lengthy illness suffering from PSP. He was born to this life on September 5th, 1939, in Cushing, OK, to Oscar and Beatrice Henson. Jerry graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1957. He was active in sports, especially football and softball, and still kept in touch with many of his classmates. He served in the Air Force after graduation, and lived most of his life in Oklahoma City. He was in the printing business for nearly 40 years. Jerry will be greatly missed be all who knew him. He was generous, kind and loved his family immensely. He had a servant's heart for the Lord. He will forever be remembered as a dear friend, devoted husband and loving father. His big smile and loving heart will be missed by all who knew him. We can rejoice in knowing he is now healed and in Heaven with his heavenly father and maker. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Randy Henson. He leaves cherished memories with his wife of 30 years, Ann; son, Todd Henson and wife, Melba of Moore, OK; daughter, Judy Henson of Midwest City and daughter, Heather Caldwell and husband, Todd of Harrah, OK; one adored grandson, Ford Nelson Caldwell; sister, Jane Henson of Oklahoma City and brother, Robert Henson and wife, Anita of San Antonio, Texas; nephews, Jon Henson of San Antonio and Kyle Henson of Paris, France and numerous other family members and friends. The family would like to thank Wolfe Living Center for all their wonderful care for Jerry these several months and Pat Dunlap, who became a wonderful friend to Jerry. Memorials may be made to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy at Cure PSP (The Society of PSP) Executive Plaza III, 11350 McCormick Rd., Suite 906, Hunt Valley, MD 21031. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 13, 2010, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
