George Thomas Carter, a lifelong resident of Prague, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Prague, at the age of 64. George was born in Prague, Oklahoma on August 10, 1958. He was the son of John Francis Carter and Eula Mae Perry. George attended elementary school at Centerview and was a 1976 graduate of Prague High School.
George was a skilled mechanic, specializing on Ford vehicles. He started his career at the Prague Motor Company. He then went to work for Seminole Ford for many years. He also worked for Ford Dealerships in Henryetta and Eufaula. For a brief time, he drove a truck for Tyson Foods.
In his spare time, George enjoyed watching television, especially his favorite cooking shows. He also enjoyed making ribs. His greatest passion was fishing. If there was water and any of chance of fish, George has probably fished there. He enjoyed going to Lake Eufaula, Lake Texoma or any number of his favorite fishing spots.
George was preceded in death by his parents, John Francis Carter and Eula Mae Perry and his stepbrother, Rev. Berton Perry.
He is survived by his brother, John Carter and his wife, Pam, of Madill; his special friend Laura Shimanek, of Prague; his sister-in-law, Sue Perry of Broken Arrow; two nieces, Kimberley Hoppers, and husband Jed; Katie Short, and husband Scott, and great-niece, Abby Oblander; and host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in George's honor to the Shriner's Hospital.
