George Edgar Buoy

George Edgar Buoy was born on March 18, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at his home in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 68. George, the son of Rome Edward and Iva Mae Beatty Buoy, was a resident of Meeker. He married Barbara Ann Burchette on March 7, 1957 in Meeker. She preceded George in death on April 12, 2003. George was retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he worked 32 years as a machinist. He was a former Mayor of Meeker, a retired volunteer with the Meeker Fire Department, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the First Baptist Church. His parents, two sisters, and one brother also preceded George in death. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, James and Jan Buoy of Prague, Mark E. Buoy of Meeker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Gerrie Buoy of Shawnee, Robert and Melba Buoy of Prague; sisters and brother-in-law, Effie Lou and Gene Walker of Meeker, Barbara Ford of Shawnee; grandchildren, Brian Allen Buoy, Michelle and John Gomez, Cheyenne and Christopher Stremlow, Sherri and Travis Gillespie; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kyla, Madlyn, and McKenze.
