George A. Owings

George Allen Owings was born December 22, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the son of Clarence Leonard & Lettie (Woodmansee) Owings. He left this life on February 7, 2013, in Midwest City, OK. George married Gloria Maron on April 22, 1968, in Long Beach, California. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. George was a long haul truck driver. He was a member of the American Legion, the River Vine organization and St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. He enjoyed fishing, cooking on his barbeque and loved driving his 1964 Ranchero. His granddaughter was the love of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Russell and Clarence Leonard Owings, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of the home; son, Russell Allen Owings, Harrah, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Jamie Owings-Stephens & Perry, Choctaw, OK; 1 granddaughter, Hayden Owings and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 11, 2013, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Lucas Raj Pinapati officiating. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
