Gene Dale Dukes was born in Prague, Oklahoma on August 20, 1943 and departed this life at his home in Prague on December 10, 2005. He was 62 years of age. Gene was the son of Arthur Dewey Dukes and Alta Belle Little Dukes. He was married to Cheryl Nelson in Prague on July 10, 1962. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base as Section Chief of Telecommunications. He served many years as the Civil Defense Director for the City of Prague and was also a retired volunteer fireman for the Prague Fire Department. He was a member of the Prague First Baptist Church and the Prague Masonic Lodge. His parents; brother, Edward; and sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Murell Martin preceded Gene in death. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Dukes, of the home; three daughters, Belinda Skaggs and her husband, Kenny of Prague, Sheri Huff and her friend, Rocky Freeze of Prague, Lisa Baker and her husband, Bill of Prague; 2 grandsons that they raised, Ryan and Justin Huff, of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Maxine Dukes of Prague; 1 sister in law, Dolores Dukes of Prague; mother in law, Elsie Brauer Neslon of Oklahoma City; one brother in law, Larry Nelson, Oklahoma City; and several special nieces and nephews.
