Gearaldine Tillis

Gearaldine (Smith) Tillis, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born June 11, 1919, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and departed this life on June 3, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years. Gearaldine was the daughter of Robert and Eva (Reed) Smith . She married Clifford Rudolph Tillis in Chandler, on October 27, 1936. Gearaldine was a homemaker and long-time member of the Lane Chapel CME Methodist Church in Chandler. Her hobbies include baking, quilting, and spending time with her much loved church family. Her parents, husband, four sons, two daughters, one brother, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild preceded Gearaldine in death. Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, Roger Tillis, Larry and Nancy Tillis and Edgar Tillis all of Chandler, one daughter Almeta Esters of San Diego, California, twenty-two grandchildren, host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Chandler High School, Performing Art Center on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lorenzo Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Sweet Home Cemetery near Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
