Gary Wayne Shields

Gary Wayne Shields passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Omaha, NE

surrounded by family. Born on March 16, 1954 in Stroud, OK, Gary was 68 years old.

Gary was one of 11 children of Ralph and Winfred (Thomas) Shields. Gary was a loving

father and Papa. Gary was a simple man; he loved a good breakfast and bragging about his

family. He always had a story to tell to anyone that would listen. On any given day you could find Gary driving his scooter down the street to Papa Chucks restaurant trying his luck at keno.

Surprisingly, he always seemed to win something. Gary loved Sooner football and the great

state of Oklahoma where he was from. Gary would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need

and went out of his way to make those around him feel loved and special.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tommy, Jimmy, Phil, Fred, and

Ricky. He was survived by his three daughters and two son-in-laws, Stacy and Ryan Kobza,

Shannon and Seth Woitaszewski, and Stephanie Shields; his grandchildren Payton, Alex,

Nolan, Gavin, June, Brooklyn, and Hadley; his siblings Mike Shields, Leslie Shields, Diane

McMillian, Sue May, and Annita Vandever.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Parks
