Gary Cook, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident, was born on May 15, 1949, in Kendrick, Oklahoma, and departed this life on December 3, 2003, at his home in Chandler at the age of 54 years. Gary was the son of Chester O. and Lucille L. Carey Cook. He was a teacher and head softball coach with the Davenport Public Schools. Gary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Davenport, Oklahoma and an active member of the Gideon?s. His father and one brother preceded Gary in death. He is survived by his wife, Jan Cook of Chandler; one son, Tim Cook of Chandler; two daughters and son-in-law, Cathy & Wade Harelson of Okemah and Dana Cook of Frisco, TX; two brothers, Dean Cook of Pawnee and Dennis Cook of Carney; three sisters, Glenda Hall of Kendrick, Brenda Hayes of Chandler, and Pat Williams of Kendrick; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2003, at the Davenport High School Gymnasium in Davenport, Oklahoma, with Reverends Wade Harelson and Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
