Freddie "Pete" Tull

December 17, 1925 — March 8, 2019

Freddie Lee Roy “Pete” Tull was born December 17, 1925 in Prague, Oklahoma to Roy and Mattie Tull. Pete was drafted into World War II, in April 1944. He served in the Army in 413 Field Artillery Group 7th Army. He was discharged from service as a Sargent May 1946. Upon his return to Prague, he married the love of his life, Lavonne Burnside, April 26, 1947. Pete and Lavonne had a wonderful life traveling through Pete’s work in the oilfield business. Their son Michael was born July 1950 in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Their second son, Randall was born January 1955 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. For over 16 years they settled in Calgary as Pete and his brother Ray purchased Canbridge Oil Exploration. During this time Pete had the opportunity to work with Red Adair who helped extinguish 3 rig fires. After Pete’s retirement in 1972, they returned to Prague, Oklahoma. Pete and Lavonne lived in Prague until her death February 13, 2012. For over 40 years they were able to enjoy life together fishing and hosting fish fry’s and other fun family times at their place at Okemah Lake with their friends Henry and Shirlene Pratka. Pete owned Spoon Pump in Prague, a well pumping business, for almost 7 years during this time. Pete enjoyed golfing, fishing and making homemade wine and won awards for his wine adventures. Pete was an active member and served as Post Commander of American Legion for Post #11 for many years. Recently Pete moved to Legends Assisted Facility so that he could be closer to his son Randy and his family. Pete is preceded in death by his wife Lavonne, his parents Roy and Mattie, his brother Ray, his sister Lena and his grandson Jake Peter Tull. His survivors include his son Michael and granddaughter Becky Tull of Canada, his son Randy and wife Karla and granddaughter Jenny of Edmond, Oklahoma, his brother Jim Tull of Cushing, Oklahoma along with many nieces and nephews from Oklahoma, Canada, Florida and North Carolina. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to your favorite military organization such as the American Legion, Wounded Warriors or your local VFW organization. While there is sorrow in our hearts, there is joy, that he is again holding Lavonne in his arms. The family will greet guests at Parks Brothers Funeral Service on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service.
