Frank Lawrence Saxton

Frank Lawrence Saxton, age 69, of Newalla, OK, was born March 22, 1947, in Harrah, OK. He was the son of Elton J. & Marguerite W. (DuCasse) Saxton. He left this life on Monday, March 20, 2017, in Newalla, OK. Frank graduated from St. Gregory's High School in Shawnee, received his Bachelor's degree from Central State University in Edmond and his Masters degree from OSU. He married Evelyn Dilis on August 25, 1967, in Oklahoma City, OK. Frank retired from Tinker AFB where he was a logistics engineer. He proudly served 34 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Army National Guard, 45th Infantry Artillery Branch. Frank was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. He loved to golf and was a marshall at Choctaw Creek Golf Course in Choctaw. He enjoyed being a leader with Boy Scouts Troop 65 and helping with the camp outs. He treasured his family vacations and loved spending time at the lake with family and friends. He was an avid OU football fan, enjoyed mowing the grass and going to Mardi Gras. Frank never met a stranger and he loved, loved, loved his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Saxton, Newalla, OK; 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Scott Saxton, Harrah, OK, Frank & Virginia Saxton, Mandeville, LA; daughter & son-in-law, Shari & Frank Bross, Guthrie, OK; 2 brothers & sisters-in law, Andre & Kathleen Saxton, Harrah, OK, Denver & Kate Saxton, Norman, OK; 9 grandchildren, Dylan Saxton, Zachary Saxton, Ryan Saxton, Sarah Bross, Matthew Bross, Andrew Bross, Mary Sophia Saxton, Hope Saxton, Abigail Saxton and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Asa Smith Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 23, 2017, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
