Fortino Juarez Salazar, age 59, of Midwest City, OK, was born on August 12, 1955, in Mexico. He was the son of Elias Juarez Salazar and Maria Juarez Rayas Salazar. He left this life on Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Oklahoma City, OK. Fortino grew up in Mexico, later coming to the U.S. at age 14. He was a trash operator for Waste Management. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, raising animals, tinkering with cars and cooking and he especially loved making tortillas and tamales. Fortino loved hanging out with his girls and was very proud of his daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife, Kathy Salazar Zanola, and daughter, Katheryn Salazar. Survivors include 4 daughters & son-in-law, Virginia Salazar, Texas, Maria Salazar, Midwest City, OK, Carrie & Joe Howard, Edmond, OK, Lindsey Salazar, Midwest City, OK; 2 brothers, Elias Salazar, Carnegie, OK, Seferino Salazar, Carnegie, OK and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, December 22, 2014 at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Newalla, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
