Ford Hiawatha Adams was born on January 26, 1924, in Malvern Arkansas. He departed this life peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday March 26, 2013 at his home in Meeker, Ok. Ford was the son of Thomas Erwin and Marry Abbot (Scott) Adams. Ford was a member of the 1943 graduating class of Meeker High School and a decorated World War II Veteran, serving as the tail gunner in a B-25 Bomber Aircraft over the Pacific Theatre. After returning from the war, he married Maranell (Smith) Adams on December 10, 1946 and they would be married for 62 years until her passing in 2007. Ford worked as an aircraft mechanic at Tinker AFB for more than 30 years before retirement, and was always renowned for his exceptional quality of workmanship and dependability. Ford was preceded in death by his wife Maranell (Smith) Adams, his parents and siblings, and a grandson, Vance Jarvis. His survivors include one son, David Adams of Meeker, three daughters and son in-law, Judy Weidenmaier of Moore, Debi Jarvis of Meeker, and Tracie and Ross Harrison of Choctaw; six grandchildren, Robin Weidner of Midwest City, Mike Adams of Edmond, Adam Jarvis of Meeker, Aaron Jarvis of Meeker, Jessie Harrison of Choctaw, and Noble Harrison of Choctaw. A graveside service was held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 2:00PM at the New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Monty Lamb will be officiating with services under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
