Flossie Ann Shaffner

Flossie Ann Shaffner was born on April 13, 1920, in Peel, Arkansas and departed this life on Monday, December 1, 2008, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Flossie, the daughter of Charles Monroe & Effie Hutchison Jordan, was a long-time resident of Davenport, Oklahoma. She married Clyde M. Shaffner on November 22, 1938, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Flossie was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Davenport. Her parents, three brothers, four sisters, one grandson and one great-great-grandson preceded Flossie in death. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William 'Bill' Monroe & Bonnie Shaffner of Choctaw, OK; daughters & sons-in-law, Phyllis Ann & Sonny Huff of Sparks, OK, Sue & Thurman Norman of Davenport, OK, Diana & Jesse James of Stroud, OK, Stella Kay & Dean Cook of Stillwater, OK; sisters, Selva Cruthers of Davenport, OK, Elva Weeks of Sparks, OK, Shirley Weaver of Oklahoma City, OK, Thursia Marson of Oklahoma City, OK; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 2:00 P.M., at First Baptist Church in Davenport, with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Davenport Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
