Florine Hazel Horton

Florine Hazel Horton, 92, passed away November 3, 2007, at Alterra Sterling House in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born March 26, 1915, in Van Buren, Arkansas to Nathan H. and Laura White Green. Florine lived many years in California working for the Postal Service and as a welder for Kaiser Shipyards during World War II. In 1945 she moved to Springdale, Arkansas, where she lived for many years. She returned to California where she worked for Kraft Foods. Following her retirement, she moved to Prague, Oklahoma, where she lived until moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2006. Florine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John H. and Jane Davis of Prague, and George E. and Rosa Lea Davis of Springdale, AR; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and E.C. Smith of Tulsa; three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew, and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 1:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
