Florence N. Savage

Florence Naomi Savage, age 86, of Newalla, OK, was born on March 6, 1924, in Caddo, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Rev. Charles W. and Myrtle (Barton) Hickenbottom. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 19, 2011, in Newalla, OK. Florence Savage was a graduate of Amarillo High School, Amarillo, TX. She was united in marriage to R. Elbert Savage, Jr., on August 13, 1950, in Amarillo, TX. She was retired from the Franchise Tax Division of the State of Oklahoma. She with her husband, Rev. Elbert Savage and son, Stephen Savage, founded Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Harrah, OK, where she served in various capacities including church pianist for 25 years. For over 50 years, she and her husband served congregations in Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Tennessee and Oklahoma. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Ronnie Savage & his wife, Lavada, Lexington, TN, Stephen Savage, Newalla, OK; 3 sisters-in-law, Lucille Thompson, Bethany, OK, Katherine Savage, Bethany, OK, Elizabeth Savage, Bethany, OK; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Savage & his wife, Cynthia, Jerrod Savage, Mandy Savage, Jenny Savage Johnson & her husband, Dan; 4 great-grandchildren, Reuben, Seth & Lanie Savage and Alaina Johnson and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at the Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, SE 15th & Harrah Road, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Stephen Savage, and Rev. Ronnie Savage officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Newalla, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
