Florence Amy Evans, long-time Chandler, and life-long Lincoln County, Oklahoma resident, was born on February 2, 1919, in Chandler, and departed this life on June 5, 2005, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 86 years. Florence was the daughter of Claud William and Hattie Ann Day Falkenstein. She married Orville 'Jack' Evans in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on November 25, 1942. Florence was a retired school teacher, having taught over 40 years. She graduated from Chandler High School with the class of 1937. She had a Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University in Edmond and a Master of Science degree from Oklahoma State University. Florence began her teaching career at the Lone Oak School, northeast of Chandler, in a one-room, eight grade school. Other Lincoln County schools include, Kickapoo Valley, Oak Grove, Pleasant Hill, Banner, Parkland and the Chandler School System. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Chandler, PEO, DAR, Retired School Teacher?s Association, and volunteered at the Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History. Her parents, husband, and one son preceded Florence in death. Survivors include; Son & daughter-in-law:Rick & Mary Evans of Chandler, OK: Two daughters & son-in-law:Sue & Allan Crump of Little Rock. AR; Vera Farmer of Reno, NV: Two sisters:Ruth Falkenstein of Denver, CO; Zola Jones of Shawnee, OK: Four grandchildren; One great-grandson. Other relatives and many friends.
