Florence Burch Jones of Prague died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at her home. Florence was born June 11, 1918, in Paden, Oklahoma, the daughter of John A. Burch and Eura Farmer Burch. Raised in the Paden area, she graduated from Okfuskee County High School. She attended Tulsa Business College and the University of Oklahoma. She began her banking career at the Prague National bank in 1938 and worked there continuously until she retired as senior vice-president in 1988. In May of that year she was inducted into the Fifty Year Club of the Oklahoma Bankers Association. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Prague, Chapter AF PEO, and was named Lady of the Year in Prague in 1986. She married James E. Jones in Bristow on June 7, 1945. After her retirement she pursued her lifetime hobby of 'doing for others' even though at times she was hampered by health problems. Florence was a consummate professional and role model to the young people in her family who enjoyed her quick wit and easy laugh. She''ll be missed beyond measure. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James E. Jones, of the home; nieces, Sharon Mills of Bakersfield, CA, Shelly Winter & her husband, Wayne, of Bakersfield, CA, Lisbeth Hall & her husband, Glen, of Canyon County, CA, and Marilyn Isaacson & her husband Robert of Friendswood, TX.
