Evelyn Jolene Lyon

Evelyn “Jolene” Lyon of Paden, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years. Evelyn “Jolene” Lyon was born on March 17, 1939, in Ralston, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Virgil and Rhoda (Knight) McKinney. She grew up in Fairfax, Oklahoma, attending schools in Ralston and Fairfax, graduating from Fairfax High School in 1957. On September 8, 1957, she married Bob Lyon and they traveled while Bob worked in the oil field before settling in Paden 1961. She worked as a telephone operator for a short time. She later worked as assistant court clerk and assistant treasurer for the Okfuskee County Court House and served the Town of Paden as Treasurer. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Paden. She enjoyed working with children, teaching Sunday School and serving in the Wednesday night AWANA group at the church. She loved sports, church, and spending time with her sisters, grandchildren and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Darrell McKinney; and one sister, Nelda Shafer. She is survived by her husband, Bob Lyon of Paden; one son, Royce Lyon and wife Shelley of Davenport, Oklahoma; one daughter, Rhonda Terronez and husband Bruce of Davenport, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Keri Jo Acord and husband Danny, Kami Lemmons and husband Josh, Whitney Mayberry and husband Dillon, Shelbey Lyon, Tyler Lyon and wife Maricela, Hunter Lyon, and Tanner Lyon; five great grandchildren, Beau, Luke, Exton, Taytum, and Cristian; four sisters, Wanda McKinney, Linda McKinney, Barbara Pfister and husband Jack, and Sheila Robertson and husband Hobie; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Paden, with Rev. Terry Pittman and Litke McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in the Paden Cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm to greet friends.
