Eugene William Holik, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born November 16, 1941, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on August 23, 2009, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years. Eugene was the son of Emil and Mae (Davis) Holik. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Eugene worked many years for Macklanburg Duncan as a heavy Equipment operator. Eugene married Meloba Sherman on April 20, 1973, in Prague. He was a member of the ZCBJ, WFLA Lodge # 46 in Prague, Oklahoma, having received his 50 year pin, Shawnee Tractor Club, a long time supporter of Prague FFA he was awarded the green hand master farmer and played football. Eugene and Melba enjoyed palying with classic cars. His parents preceded Eugene in death. Survivors include, wife, Melba of the home, two brothers & sisters-in-law, Howard Lee & Shirley Holik of Stroud, OK, Joe Richard & Linda Holik of Kendrick, OK, two sisters & brothers-in-law, Anna Mae & Jerry Peters of Prague, OK, Mary Frances & Gene Flatt of Stroud, OK, mother-in-law, Christine Sherman of VA, sisters-in-laws & brothers-in-laws, Kenita & Steve Emory of VA, Joanne Sherman of VA, Jeannie & Bruce Heath of GA. Other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be made to the Family of Faith Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009, 2:00 PM, at the Family of Faith Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma, burial will follow at the New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
