Eugene Russell Parker was born in Welch, Oklahoma on August 29, 1919 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Russell was the son of Claude and Myrtle Parkhurst Parker. Russell was a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma from 1924 until 1964, returning in 1984 moving from Thermopolis, WY. Russell graduated from Stroud High School in 1938. Russell married Margurette Hamilton on February 10, 1945 the mother of their five children. Russell was in the United States Navy where he served in WWII. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stroud, and worked for the United State Postal Service as a mail carrier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Three Wives, Margurette in 1969, Jean in 1982, Betty 2005, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include, Four Sons, Robert Russell Parker of Wichita Falls, TX, Charles Daniel Parker of Diamondhead, MS, William Hamilton Parker of Wichita Falls, TX, James Seth Parker of Evanston, WY, One Daughter, Claudia Jeanne Bristow of Stroud, OK, Thirteen Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren, Others relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Service is under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
