Esther Street

Esther Romaine Street, Chandler, OK, resident was born on March 4, 1913, in Shermansdale, Pennsylvania, and departed this life on September 6, 2009, in Chandler, OK, at the age of 96 years. Esther was the daughter of Howard and Elizabeth (Messimer) Adams. Esther was not only a devoted wife, but a wonderful mother. She lived an interesting life, living in both the United Sates and in Europe, she was also an avid and excellent bridge player. Esther’s simple and positive attitude touched all who knew her and cared for her. She will loved and forever missed. Her parents, husband – Major John Street and her son, John Edward Street preceded Esther in death. Survivors include one daughter,Joan Butts of Chandler, OK. One son,James Street of Hunt Valley MA. Brother, Glenn Adams of Carlisle, PA. Sister, Vera Madison of Carlisle, PA. Four Grandchildren Allan & Sue Crump of Maumelle, AR., Greg Crump of Chandler, OK., Michael & Jana Street of Middletown, Conn., Kelli & Jeff Simmon of Newington, Conn., Five Great Grandchildren and other relatives and many friends Esther’s family members would like to extend their appreciation to all of her dedicated and loving caregivers at Chandler Nursing Center for the last 10 years. Also, they would like to give their thanks for the excellent care provided by Valir Hospice Care. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September, 8, 2009, 11:00 AM, at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Chandler, Oklahoma, with Rev. Doyle Seeley officiating. Burial will be at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
