Ernest Pershing Way was born on June 7, 1918, in Prague, OK, and departed this life at his home in Prague on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at the age of 88. Ernest, the son of John Aaron and Daisy Allen Simmons Way, was a resident of Prague. He attended Pleasant Valley School for three years and then attended Prague schools, graduating in 1936. Ernest earned a BS degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 1940. With his Army ROTC background, Ernest was commissioned at graduation as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in CO, Camp Riley in MN, ended his active-duty military career as a captain at Ft. Francis E. Warren in Cheyenne, WY, and was discharged from the reserves as a major. Ernest married Margaret Belle Siebert on March 4, 1944 in Cheyenne, WY. Ernest and Margaret made their home in Prague where he worked as a roughneck, tool pusher, pumper, and production superintendent for several independent oil companies. He also engaged in farming and ranching on land that has been in the family since the early 1900s. His parents; brothers, John Aaron, Jr., and David Woodrow; sisters, Anna Mae and Lucille Ethel, preceded Ernest in death. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret of the home, sons and daughters-in-law Robert 'Bob' and Joni Way of Louisville, KY, Richard ?Rick? and Ann Way of Norman, daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Mark Stubsten of Fairview, Sharon and George Burns of Vici, 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren
