Erma Jewel Massie

Erma Jewel Massie was born on January 13, 1925, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in Chandler, OK, at the age of 84. Jewel, the daughter of Elmer and Emmer Mae Ramsey Ohmert, was a life-long resident of Chandler. She married Tipton Massie on January 14, 1942, in Davenport, OK. To this union three children were born, Freida, Wayne, and Kirk. Jewel worked many years as a beautician and homemaker. She was a member of the Chandler First Church of the Nazarene. Her parents, husband, and one son preceded her in death. Survivors include, one son, Wayne Massie of Chandler, OK, one daughter, Freida McKey of Shawnee, OK, one sister, Ruth Curtis of Chandler, OK, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009, at 2:00 P.M.at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, with Pastor Keith Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
