Elvin Raymond "J.R." Gleason

Elvin Raymond 'J.R.' Gleason was born on August 2, 1949, in Prague, Oklahoma and departed this life on Thursday, April 8, 2010, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 60. Raymond, the son of Elvin Raymond, Sr. & Olena Lee (Lokey) Gleason, was a resident of Eufaula, Oklahoma. He married Carol Osburn in 1966 and together they had three sons. In 1981 he married Diane Kay Hammonds. To this union two children were born. J. R. attended school in Hennessey and Choctaw, Oklahoma. He had a long and respected career in oil production and drilling. For the past eight years, he had been employed as a consultant with Sierra Consulting. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had enjoyed living at Lake Eufaula for the past several years. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Gleason, Sr. in 2002. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Olena & Frank Walker, Prague, OK; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond Lee & Mandie Gleason of Newalla, OK, Tommy Jene & Christy Gleason of Indianola, OK, Jeff & Misti Gleason, Graham, TX, Ryan & Lauren Gleason, Eufaula, OK; daughter, Cherese Gleason, Yukon, OK; brothers & sister-in-law, David & Terry Gleason, Choctaw, OK, Tommy Gleason, Eufaula, OK; and three grandchildren. Viewing and visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 12th and continue until Noon on Tuesday at Smith Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt in Harrah. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM, at the Prague Cemetery in Prague, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith Parks Funeral Service in Harrah.
