Elva J. 'Jerry' Gilbert

Jerry Gilbert was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on January 28, 1940 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the age of 70 years. Jerry was the daughter of Melvin John E and Cora (Morgan) Dotson. She was a resident of Kendrick, Oklahoma since 1969. She completed her Nursing Degree at Seminole Junior College in 1983. Jerry was a nursing instructor at Drumright Vo-Tech, and worked at as charge nurse at Stroud and Drumright Hospital, and retired from Stroud Health Care. Jerry married Johnnie Gilbert in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 25, 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Cathrine Lena, 1 son, Barney Lloyd, 1 grandson, Richard Earl, 2 sisters, Pauline Smith and Margaret O'Neal and 4 brothers, Melvin John Dotson Jr., Elvin Gerald Dotson, Doyle 'Bill' Reynolds and Dr. Richard Dotson. Survivors include, Husband, Johnnie of the home, One Son, Daniel Gilbert of Tulsa, OK, Two Daughters, Lou Gilbert of Tulsa, OK, Sherry Valliquette of Stroud, OK, Daughter in Law, Lois Gilbert of Davenport, OK, One Brother, David Dotson of Collinsville, OK, One Sister, Sue Raby of Bristow, OK, Four Grandchildren, Johnny Cody, Amanda Gilbert, Rebecca Griffin, and Laura Gilbert, One Great Granddaughter, Kimber Cody Several Nieces and nephews, Other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Kendrick Cemetery, Kendrick, Oklahoma under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
