Elsie Lorene Henderson

Elsie Lorene Henderson, age 91, of Newalla, OK, was born March 4, 1922, in Pauls Valley, OK. She was the daughter of Luther & Mamie Mary Ethel (Swiggert) Churchwell. She left this life on Monday, June 17, 2013, in Midwest City, OK. Elsie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newalla, OK. She was a cook at Newalla School and worked at Midwest City Hospital. She loved taking care of her grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnie, 4 brothers and 9 sisters. Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Delbert & Dolly Henderson, Newalla, OK; brother, Orville Churchwell, Shawnee, OK; 2 sisters, Beulah Gay, Shawnee, OK, Willie Mae Troxel, McComb, OK; 2 granddaughters & grandsons-in-law, Sheila & Jeff Childers, Sonja & Scott Malaske; 5 great-grandchildren, Lacey, Logan, Baylen, Brayden great-great-grandson, Lil man Kolstyn Williams; longtime caregiver & friend, Stormy Lyle and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Quality Care of Midwest City, OK. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Newalla First Baptist Church, Newalla, OK, with Rev. Bill Derrick officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Newalla, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
