Elsie Jane (Shero) Davis

Elsie Jane Davis was born on January 23, 1922, in Paden, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, August 15, 2011, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Jane, the daughter of Earl and Gertrude (Jukes) Shero, was a resident of Prague. She graduated from Wilburton High School. Jane then graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Oklahoma State University, then known as Oklahoma A&M University. Jane served proudly as a United States Navy Wave during World War II. She married Cleo Davis on October 12, 1946 in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Jane and Cleo then purchased the Jake Mitchell farm east of Prague and made their home there until moving into Prague in 1994. They also purchased Home Oil Company in Prague in 1954 and owned and operated it until their retirement. Cleo preceded Jane in death on April 7, 2006. Jane was a devoted homemaker and an active member of the First Baptist Church in Prague. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Carol Davis of Chickasha, Dr. Frank and Ann Davis of Edmond, Earl Davis of Alta Loma, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Buck Wright of Stillwater; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law,Bill Shero of Wilburton, John and Pauline Shero of Wilburton, Bob and Sharon of Albuquerque, NM; many other relatives and friends. The Davis family will receive friends Wednesday evening, August 17, 2011, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Paden. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
