Elmer Glenn Sutton

Elmer G. Sutton was born August 15, 1925 in Chandler, Oklahoma and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Elmer was the son of James A. and Lillie (Dunn) Sutton. He was a resident of Kendrick, Oklahoma since 1965. He attended school in Kendrick, Oklahoma. He got his GED while he was in the service. He joined the Navy in 1941 and reenlisted in the Army two later. He served 20 years before retiring as a staff sgt. and returning to Kendrick with his family. He served in WWII and in the Korea Conflict and received several metals. He married Mary B. Skaggs in 1948 and had 3 children. Glenda Dye, Joseph S. Sutton and Joyce Sutton McGhee. Elmer had 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, two sisters, three brothers and one granddaughter. Survivors include one son Joseph Sutton of Davenport, OK., one daughter Joyce McGhee of Morrison, IL., three brothers Don Sutton of Wendover NV., Marvin Sutton of Mt. Angle, OR.,Roy Sutton of Mryele Creek, OR., three sisters Bonnie Hopwood of Eugene, OR., Sally of Buhl, ID., Mary Rich of Meridian, ID.
