Ellen S. Dawson

Ellen Malacha Sacra Dawson Ellen S. Dawson, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, born October 25, 1920 in Denison, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in Midwest City, OK. Ellen was the only daughter of Lillian Leo Sacra and Leston Kilpatrick Sacra. She graduated from St. Xavier Academy in Denison, Texas in 1937 and attended Our Lady of Victory in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Rockleigh S. 'Rock' Dawson on November 28, 1943. She lived in Midwest City since 1946, was a retired realtor and a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation. Ellen was a charter member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and is an eternal member of the Body of Christ. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Leston Sacra, her husband, Rock and her brother, Joseph Ralph Sacra. She is survived by her children, 3 sons, Rockleigh, Jr. & his wife, Polly Dawson, Houston, TX, Robert R. Dawson, Midwest City, OK, Jimmy Dawson, Kingston, OK; daughter, Mary Ellen & her husband, Paul Cook, Mesquite, TX; brother, Gerald Leston Sacra, Monrovia, CA; 8 grandchildren, Geoffry Cook, Carrie Ellen Cook Wilson, Rockleigh, Christopher & Brooke Dawson, Lindsay, Jamie & Abby Dawson; 5 great-grandchildren including god daughter, Shelby Wilson; 6 nieces & nephews and their families including Diane and Courtneigh Moentnish and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and School, 1107 Felix Place, Midwest City, OK 73110. A Wake will be held at 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 29, 2008, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Midwest City, Oklahoma. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 30, 2008 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Midwest City, OK, with Father Timothy Fuller and Father Jack Feehily officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK.
