Ellen Ladd of Prague died peacefully at 5:10 PM on Thursday, December 10, 2009, in Prague, Oklahoma. Ellen was born on September 7, 1920, in Beebe, South Dakota, to Neil Axelson and Ruth (Walton) Thompson. She graduated from Clymer High School in 1938. She and Roy Ladd were married on July 18, 1942, in Youngsville, Pennsylvania. After World War II, She and Roy owned and operated a dairy farm for 27 years near Beaverdam, Pennsylvania. Roy and Ellen retired to Oklahoma in 1974. They made their home north of Arlington since 1982. Roy preceded Ellen in death on December 20, 2007. Ellen worked as a research analyst for the Literary Department at the University of Oklahoma and was an active member of Arlington United Methodist Church until her health failed. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Elgin, Pennsylvania. Ellen’s parents, 4 brothers, 1 infant brother, and 2 infant sisters also preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Susan Blakeslee and her husband, Douglas of North East, PA, Patricia Ley of Las Vegas, NV, Mary Ann Ladd and companion, Peggy, of Malden, MA; sons, Richard Ladd and wife Karen of Mason, OK, David Ladd of Oklahoma City, OK, Gregory Ladd of Wellston, OK; grandchildren,Natalie Burns, her husband Robert, and their children Bethany, Baylee, and Bryanna, Christopher Blakeslee, Lance Blakeslee and wife Kathy, and their children Josh and Elle, Michael Ley and wife Linda, Marcie Ley and companion Matthew, Jesse Ladd and his son Christopher, Megan Cooper and son Gavin, Ashley Ladd and Marcus Dixon, Chris Ladd and Jodi Shumaker, Micah Morelock.
