Ella Marie Weehunt, 86, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in Chandler, Oklahoma.
Ella Marie was born on December 22, 1937, to Raymond and Edna Mae (Lee) Buttrill in Harden City, Oklahoma. She attended school in nearby Ada, Oklahoma, graduating from Ada High School. Ella Marie married Victor Weehunt on January 18, 1956, in Uvalde, Texas. Victor preceded Ella Marie in death in 2006.
Ella Marie enjoyed playing piano, singing, listening to gospel music, gardening, and freelance writing. She also enjoyed sewing and making her granddaughters clothes, dressing them up, and perming their hair. Ella Marie especially loved to cook, bake, and keep her family fed. She cherished time with her family as they all sat around the table playing games as she cooked for them. Ella Marie’s talents in the kitchen extended to feeding and serving those she ministered to in the many missions trips she took to Mexico and other places in the world.
Ella Marie was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Victor Weehunt; infant daughters, Jackie Lou Weehunt, and Sharon Ann Weehunt; parents, Raymond and Edna Mae Buttrill; brother, Jim Bob Buttrill; and a sister, Betty “BJ” McDonald.
Ella Marie is survived by a daughter, Victoria Dickman and her husband, Howard Dickman; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Margaret Buttrill; 3 granddaughters and their husbands, Hollie and Joe Garcia, Brandi and George Davis, Jr., and Kristi and Michael Dixon; great-grandchildren, Sergio Garcia and Diego Garcia, Levi, Lauren, and Tanner Davis, and Chase, Hannah, and Ethan Odle; great-great granddaughter, Willow Grace Odle; nephew, Gary McDonald and his wife, Shanda McDonald; as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.
