Ella Mae Ellis was born on December 2, 1922, in Iron Post, Oklahoma near Bristow, and departed this life at her home in Seminole County, Oklahoma, on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at the age of 88. Ella, the daughter of Louis Daniel and Laura Martin Estep, was a long-time resident of the Seminole area. She married Marvin Luther Ellis on July 16, 1938 in Okemah. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1982. Ella was a school cafeteria worker and a member of the Cromwell Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her parents; one daughter, Carolyn Shivers; one sister, Louise Lewis, one grandson, Kenneth; and one granddaughter, Leslie, also preceded Ella in death. Survivors include sons, James Ellis of Prague, Billy Ellis of Seminole, Donald Ellis of Seminole, Luther Dean Ellis of Seminole, Carl Ellis of Seminole; daughters, Darlene Aldridge of Cromwell, Twana Dodson of Maud; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The Ellis family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cromwell. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole County.
