Elizabeth (Betty) Anderson, 90, of Prague passed away May 8th 2021. Betty was born October 15th, 1930 in Perry Oklahoma to Ivan and Hazel (Eby) Kennedy. Ivan was a violinist and National Guard band director for the 158th field artilery until 1938 when he opened a roller skating rink in Perry beginning a family tradition. Hazel was an accomplished piano teacher and organist for the silent films. Betty graduated from Perry High School and began working at the Perry Journal newspaper before moving to OKC where she began as a typesetter for the Daily Oklahoman. Betty met a handsome pump jocky while gassing up her shiny new Dodge in OKC. Lowell Anderson was in the filling station business when Betty pulled in for some petrol. It was love at first tune-up! Betty and Lowell were married December 21st, 1956 and remained so until Lowell's passing in 1984. Betty and Lowell, together with Boyd and Katherine Anderson, opened the first Orbit Roller Rink in Choctaw. Betty's brother Bob, and his wife Betty, opened the Roll-Away rink in Shawnee. Betty and Lowell moved to Prague where she was a mother and home-maker, caring for the children while Lowell began a successful real estate and home building business, along with a restaurant and service station on the south edge of town. Betty managed the 99 Skyline Restaurant and helped Lowell in the real estate office as their business grew. Continuing the Anderson and Kennedy family tradition Betty and Lowell built a new rink in Prague, Orbit Skate Center, in 1977. After Lowell's death in 1984 Betty retired and spent her time collecting antique dolls, glasswear, bells, and snow globes. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Anderson, parents Ivan and Hazel Kennedy, sisters Carol Plessinger, Warrene Harris, Margie Talbot, June Jerome, Donna Golliver, brother Robert Kennedy, and her grandsons Robert Anderson and Edward Saiz. Those left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law Clifton and Joyce Anderson, daughter and son-in-law Donna and Phil Mizera, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Patricia Anderson, grandchildren Brent and Heather Mizera, Summer and Mark Rosado, Rebekah Saiz and her fiancee Wil Harris, great grandchildren Bella, Bronson, Anna, Robin and numerous neices, nephews, and their families who had a special place in her heart.
