Elden Orville McDaniel, age 91, of Harrah OK, was born on December 22, 1922, in Prague, OK. He was the son of James & Wahneta (Rattan) McDaniel. He left this life on Thursday, November 20, 2014, in Midwest City, OK. Elden proudly served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He married Thelma Lee VanZant on December 29, 1947, in Prague, OK. Elden retired from Tinker AFB where he was engine mechanic. He was a member of the Harrah First Baptist Church. Elden enjoyed gardening, fishing, RVing, camping and spending time at the lake house. He was an avid woodworker and made many yard decorations especially for OU and OSU. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lonnie McDaniel and 3 sisters, Cleta Hand, Marie Stewart and Cyble Harper. Survivors include his wife, Thelma McDaniel, Harrah, OK; son & daughter-in-law, E. K. & Michele McDaniel, Silver Springs, NV; daughter & son-in-law, Sandra & Rick Pogue, Bella Vista, AR; brother, Clyde McDaniel, Meeker, OK; 2 sisters, Delores Kent, Pampa, TX, Neoma Comstock, Meeker, OK; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Gable Cemetery, Meeker, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
