Elda Kathleen Wiley

Elda Kathleen Wiley long-time Meeker, Oklahoma, resident was born on October 27, 1917, near Meeker, Oklahoma, and departed this life on June 2, 2009, in Chandler, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years. Kathleen was the daughter of Clarence and Fannie (Henson) Horton. She graduated from White Rock High School in 1935. Kathleen retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission in 1979 after 27 years, where she was a supervisor in the Motor Vehicle Department. She was a member of Horton Chapel Methodist Church, which later became the Horton Chapel Church of the Nazarene near Meeker. Kathleen spent many happy times with her children and grandchildren. Some of her fondest memories were of the times she camped out at Lake Eufaula in a tent. She quilted and crocheted the finest handwork. Kathleen liked to garden and raise chickens. She could make the best fried chicken and cherry pie of anyone in the community. Her parents, three husbands, Hollie Bowen, Homer Banks, and Wink Wiley; two brothers, Herold and John Horton; and one sister, Ethel Batt preceded Kathleen in death. Survivors include, two sons & daughters-in-law, Hollie & Coleta Bowen of Oklahoma City, OK, Bill & Glenda Banks of Meeker, OK, two daughters & son-in-law, Elda & Jim Bowen Davis of Bethany, OK, Betty Banks Real of Meeker, OK, one sister-in-law, Bonnie Horton, Midwest City, OK, ten grandchildren, Jamie Davis Leach, Jill Davis, David Davis, Mark Bowen, Michael Bowen, Robin Banks Watlington, William Banks Jr., Tracy Real Rich, Tina Real Holder, and Kristi Real Williams,fFourteen great-grandchildren, Jaclyn Davis Price, Nicole Davis, Bryant Leach, Kelsey Bransby, Holly Bowen, Madison Bowen, Connor Bowen, Randy Watlington, Bryce Watlington, Nathan Yoder, Kaytln Miller, Aubrey Holder, Nichole Adams, Adriana Holder, and great-great grandchild Triston Watlington. Other relatives and many friends. Expression of sympathy may be made to, Rossville Cemetery Association or Valor Hospice of Chandler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Parks Brothers Chapel in Chandler. Burial will follow at the Rossville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
