Edyth Cowell

Edyth Emma Cowell, Chandler, OK, resident was born on February 5, 1916, in Richfield, KS, and departed this life on Thursday, October 13, 2011, in Shawnee, OK, at the age of 95 years. Edyth was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Oma Edith (Butts) Willis. She married Carl James Cowell Jr. on July 1, 1941, in Grandfield, OK. They were married for over 62 years till his death in 2003. Edyth was a homemaker and member of the Forest Baptist Church in Chandler. Her parents and husband, three sisters and three brothers preceded Edyth in death, Survivors include, three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Raymond of Chandler, OK, Elaine & Ronnie Gray of Chandler, OK, Maxine & Bryce Wade of Blanchard, OK, one sister, Sarah Pearl Warrick of Shawnee, OK, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Chandler, with Rev. Jeff Bruton & Rev. Dale Carney officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
