Edward Sr. Byers

Edward Byers, Sr., age 81, of Harrah, OK, was born November 25, 1928 in Cherokee County, Tahlequah, OK. He was the son of Nicodemus & Charlotte (Pigeon) Byers. He left this life on Thursday, November 11, 2010, in Midwest City, OK. Ed and Ida were married on October 22, 1955, in Tulsa, OK. He worked as a rigger for OG&E retiring after 22 years. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved playing dominoes and watching his grandkids play ball. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe & Charlie, two sisters, Fannie & Lillie, one granddaughter, Alexa, two great-grandchildren, Shianne & Jada. Survivors include his wife, Ida Byers, Harrah, OK; 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Ronnie Byers, Harrah, OK, Bo & Debbie Byers, Harrah, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Brenda & Randy Holbrook, Choctaw, OK, Pitsie & Chuck Henkel, Harrah, OK; 5 sisters, Nancy Hatley, Oklahoma City, OK, Annabell Silk, Cookson, OK, Betty Lowery, Cookson, OK, Virginia Heist, Tahlequah, OK, Regina Leep, Muskogee, OK; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Kathy Longhat officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Barnoskie Cemetery, Vian, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
