Edward “Ed” Harvey Thorsen was born on August 29, 1933, in Helper, KS, and departed this life on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. Ed, the son of Harvey Peter and Mary (Vinardi) Thorsen, was a long time resident of Prague. Ed married Joan Fisher on March 19, 1960. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the US Air Force, spending four years on the border of North and South Korea. As a young serviceman he drove a 1957 convertible Chevy which caught Joan’s eye and is a special memory. Ed enjoyed fishing and sports of all kinds, especially if OU, the Thunder, Dallas Cowboys or the St. Louis Cardinals were playing. He was known for driving his 1987 brown Chevy pickup which became known as Brownie. Ed will be remembered forever and dearly missed. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Stiles. Survivors include Ed’s wife, Joan Thorsen of the home; son, Mike Thorsen of Oklahoma City; daughter, Judy Stack of Prague; granddaughters, Natalie and Amanda Stack of Prague; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Donna Prevett and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM, at Prague First Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
