Edna Smith

Edna May Smith was born on November 11, 1919, in Prague Oklahoma, and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2012, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 92. Edna, the daughter of Archie and Silvia (Peck) Hanks, was a resident of Shawnee. Edna married Miles Smith on November 27, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Edna shared a special relationship with her great niece, Heather Hanks and great nephew Nathan Hanks whom she treated like grandchildren. Edna was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one brother Norman Hanks of Shawnee;two sisters-in-law Anne Hanks of Dover Delaware and Sue Hanks Edmond Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 2:00PM, at Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee with Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson officiating. A private family burial has been held at Gable Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
