Edna Mozelle Burkeen

Edna Mozelle Burkeen, age 87, of Harrah, OK, was born March 9, 1926, in Polk County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of John Orestes & Roxie Olive (Earnest) Turner. She left this life on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in Harrah, OK. Mozelle married Thomas Earley Burkeen on April 23, 1946, in Hatfield, AR. She was a homemaker and the important things to her were taking care of her family and loving her children and grandchildren. She canned and sewed all her kids clothes, tended to the yard and her flower gardens. Mozelle enjoyed making candy and sharing it with others. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Orestine, 2 brothers-in-law and 2 baby brothers in infancy. Survivors include her 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Lyndell & James Robertson, Brownbranch, MO, Lisa & Earl Ward, Harrah, OK, Betsy & Gordon Fitzgerald, Harrah, OK; sister, Lena Griffin, Harrah, OK; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Robertson, Colin Robertson, Roxie Jones, Robin Fitzgerald; 1 great-grandchild, Ellorie Jones and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2014, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
