Edna Louella Case

Edna Louella (Eastep) Case was born October 30, 1936, at Horseshoe Bend south of Paden to Clarence and Edna (Gardner) Eastep. She passed to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Edna Eastep and Max Case eloped to Las Vegas, Nevada and were united in marriage on March 2, 1954. They recently celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage. Her greatest calling in life was the role of mother and grandmother. All eleven grandchildren spent as much time with Grannie and Grandpa as they did at home. Grannie loved to take her daughters and granddaughters shopping, but she never failed to let everybody know the boys and grandsons were much easier to take care of! The boys were her favorites!! The boys knew she would fix anything they brought in from their hunting trips. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She had many talents. Edna was an excellent seamstress, she made many prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and even a few wedding dresses. She made all the kids their clothes. Edna made sure all the kids had new dresses and shirts for every holiday. One for school and one for church. Edna was a self-taught cake decorator. She made many wedding cakes and a lot of birthday cakes. Most of these she made for a no charge. She also had a talent for drawing and painting pictures, especially of flowers. Edna became a member of the Paden Holiness Church when she gave her life to Christ in August of 1958 at the Paden Tabernacle. She was a Sunday school teacher for many, many years, and was also the church secretary for over 30 years. Edna was a founding member of the Paden Happy Homemakers Club, winning many blue ribbons for her sewing, baking, and canning. She was involved in all her children’s activities. She was also a den mother for the Boy Scouts, and a leader for the 4-H club. She worked many years for the Okfuskee County Election Board. Mom/Grannie left a great legacy. She loved God, her family, her church, and her community. She was so very proud of her Choctaw heritage. Those left to cherish Edna’s memory are her husband, Max Case; her children, Rebecca and Tom Tindall of Tecumseh, Max Howard and Glenda Case of Paden, Melanie and Wendell Brown of Paden, Kim and Debra Case of Prague, and Edwina and Roger Logan of Paden; grandchildren, Darren and Rhonda Raines of Paden, Ryan and Kristy Brown of Prim, Arkansas, Bridgette and Alan Moore of Glenwood, Arkansas, Nancy and Rob Craycraft of Prague, Brandy (Case) Moore of Paden, Eric and Matonna Raines of Tecumseh, Amanda and Theron Williams of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Jeremiah and Tiffany Case of Paden, Valarie and Carl McKinney of Paden, Bryan and Lindsey Logan of Paden, Michael and Sheena Logan of Paden, Kristen and Chris Green of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mallory Mitchell and Ray Booth, and Kyle and Madison Mitchell; 47 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Curtis Byerly of Paden; brother and sister-in-law, JS and Loree Eastep of Choctaw, Oklahoma; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Sue and Tom Hinds of Paden, and Peggy and Harlan Wilson of Prague; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna Eastep; brothers, Earnest Taylor, Clarence (Buck) Eastep, Raymond Eastep, and Wade Eastep; and her sisters, Ollie Cates, and Adabell Lee. Mom was blessed to remain at home throughout her memory loss due to dementia. Dad/Grandpa was a faithful caregiver, never leaving mom’s side for over 6 years. Her children and grandchildren have been faithful to help with her care. We would like to give a special thank you to Shea Clark and Bryana Logan for helping to take care of mom/grandma, and dad/grandpa. Hope Schmidt helped us during her last month also. Thank you to Loving Care Hospice – Jessie Plum, Pam Gibson, Amber Freeze, and Jo Beth Brown for their considerate care of mom/grandpa. Edna’s family would also like to thank everyone for all the calls, visits, food, flowers, and support this week. Funeral services for Edna will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2022, at Paden Holiness Church, Paden. Her family will be accepting visitors from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 12, at Paden Holiness Church. Condolences can be expressed at www.parksbrothers.net.
