Edna Leona Staley

Edna Leona Staley, long-time Wellston, Oklahoma, resident was born on March 23, 1924, near Harrah, Oklahoma in Lincoln County, and departed this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years. Edna was the daughter of Ralph and Hilda Lohmann Downey. She married Frank Staley on May 6, 1939, in Oklahoma City. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston Her parents, husband, four brothers, three sisters, and son-in-law, Harley Devore, preceded Edna in death. Survivors include, five sons, Carrol F. Staley of Oklahoma, Charles W. Staley of Oklahoma, Jerold D. Staley of Oklahoma, Benjamin L. Staley of Oklahoma, Frank J. Staley of Oklahoma, five daughters, Shirley A. Devore of Oklahoma, Leona R. Tomlinson of Oklahoma, Margaret E. Whitworth of Oklahoma, Betty J. Huff of Oklahoma, Patty S. Ferrell of Oklahoma, one sister, Allene M. Winter of Oklahoma, Over 80 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lane Buckley officiating. Burial will follow at Wellston Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
