Cynthia Edna Knight was born on November 4, 1921, in Paris, Arkansas, and departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 87. Edna, the daughter of William D. and Bessie Nancy Elizabeth (Neeley) Rippy, was a long time resident of Paden. She married Melvin Axton on October 15, 1938. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1975. On January 19, 1996, Edna married W.M. “Jack” Knight. She worked as a supervisor for Wrangler and was a member of the Paden First Baptist Church. Her parents: seven brothers: two sisters: a daughter, Billie Carol Winnard: a grandson, Randy York: and son-in-law, David Maddox, also preceded Edna in death. Survivors include husband, W.M. “Jack” Knight; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Pam Axton of Prague, J.D. and Shirley Knight of Meeker, Anthony and Susan Knight of Choctaw; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Jay Fauchier of McLoud, Marilyn Maddox of Paden; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Carl Gibson of Herod, Illinois; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grand children.
