Earl A. "Butch" Canfield

Earl Alison 'Butch' Canfield was born in Spencer, Oklahoma on May 22, 1938 and departed this life in Shawnee, Oklahoma on May 15, 2009 at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 24 days. Earl was the son of Lloyd Everett and Margaret Shadrick Canfield. He graduated from Northeast High School with the class of 1957. He was married to Carol A. Gundy in Oklahoma City on June 1, 1962. Earl worked for OG&E until 1967. At that time he and Carol moved to the Rossville area of Lincoln County and began their dairy farm operation. Together, they operated their dairy farm until 1994 and were respected as having one of the top dairy herds in the State of Oklahoma. Following his retirement from the dairy industry, Earl then began raising Registered Limousin Cattle. He was a member of the North American Limousin Foundation, the NRA and Mammoth Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and made frequent deer hunting trips to Colorado. He was cowboy poet, loved his family and enjoyed blue grass, gospel and country music. Survivors include his wife of 46 yrs, Carol Canfield of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Gale & Gregg Miller, Meeker; one son and his companion, Scott Alan Canfield and Merri England, Meeker; brothers & sisters in law,Donald L. Canfield, Little, OK, Roy Lee & Lois Canfield, Oklahoma City, Tom & Mary Canfield, Prague; sisters and brothers in law, Deloris & Vernon McAllister, Forrest Park, OK, Shirley & Gene Wishon, Luther, OK, Faye & Dr. Tom Denton, Arcadia, OK; grandchildren, Macy Brianna Miller, Shelby Lexanna Miller and Bayli Sueanna Miller.
