Dwayne Burton Hoppes

Dwayne Burton Hoppes was born on February 21, 1945 in Old Mannford, Oklahoma and departed this life on June 6, 2020 in Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 75. Dwayne was born to William Burton and Helen Earlene (Brady) Hoppes. Dwayne married Robbie Darlene Ritter on July 21, 1964 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Depew High School and went on to attend college at Oklahoma State University Tech. Dwayne worked for many years in the oil and gas business. Dwayne was a leader for 34 years in the Assemblies of God Royal Rangers. Dwayne loved his golf and fishing and more than anything loved being with his family. There was nothing that Dwayne wouldn’t try at least once. He was very much an adventure seeker. Dwayne is preceded in death by his parents WB and Helen Hoppes of Depew, Oklahoma; daughter Andrea Dawn Hoppes; parents-in-law WJ and Robbie Ritter of Stroud, Oklahoma; and sister Deann Lynn Hoppes. Survivors include wife of 55 years, Robbie Darlene (Ritter) Hoppes of Stroud, Oklahoma; daughter Chandra Swisher and husband Rod of Chandler, Oklahoma; daughter Toni Dugan and husband Terry of Seminole, Oklahoma; son Bill Hoppes and wife Denise of Carney, Oklahoma; grandchildren Caitlin Swisher, Virginia Glaze, Jessica Hoppes, Holly Hoppes, Eli Childers Hoppes, Adam Childers Hoppes, Colby Dugan; great grandchildren Merrady Murray, Russell Ambler, Ivy Childers; sisters Debbie Hoppes Brichacek of Drumright, Oklahoma and Denett Hoppes Cochran of Slick, Oklahoma; as well as many extended family and friends. Dwayne was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Service for Dwayne will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 12, 2020 at First Assembly of God in Stroud, Oklahoma with Pastor Jeromye Jackson and Pastor Jason Mooy officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery in Stroud, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dwayne’s memory to Stroud First Assembly of God (https://stroudag.churchcenter.com/giving).
