Douglas Lee Byrd, Jr.

Douglas Lee Byrd Jr, 38, left this earth September 20, 2022 in Stroud, Ok. Douglas was born September 22, 1983 in Stroud, OK to Douglas Lee Byrd Sr and Brenda Ann Byrd. He came into this world weighing a whopping ten pounds and had the biggest brown eyes imaginable. Douglas was a lifelong resident of Stroud, attending Stroud Schools until he graduated in 2003.

Growing up, Doug had an ornery streak a mile long, but always managed to find his way out of trouble with his mischievous grin, those brown eyes mentioned above and a little help from his Grandma Clara. Douglas enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, Sooner football, spending time with friends and drinking cold beers. Douglas was a heavy equipment operator throughout most his his working career. He was a friend to so many and there wasn't a soul who didn't comment on his kind heart and willingness to lend a helping hand when needed.

Douglas is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Lee Byrd Sr, grandmother Clara Jordan, grandfather Harold Jordan, cousin Jimmy Byrd and cousin Joanna Stinson. He is survived by his mother Brenda Allen of Stroud, sisters Julia Day and Jennifer Arvizu both of Stroud, brother Adam Allen of Stroud, niece Olivia Arvizu, nephews Luke Day, Diego Arvizu and Lane Day, Grandparents Nola and Albert Ring of Stroud along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of his life will be Friday, September 30, 2022 at 7:00pm at The Q, 417 W Main St, Stroud, OK.
