Douglas Carroll "Doug" Murray

Douglas Carroll Murray, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on March 26, 1930, in Hollis, Oklahoma, and departed this life on September 13, 2013, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. Doug was the son of Pope and Rubie May (Barnes) Murray. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Doug married Dorothy Scott in Hollis, on August 17, 1950. For over 50 years, Doug had owned or managed a Phillip 66 service station in Chandler. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ and the Chandler Round Up Club. His parents preceded Doug in death. Survivors include, his wife of 63 years, Dorothy of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila & Ron Slayton of Chandler and Kim & Rick Rackley of Chandler. One sister, Bobbie Prock of Sherman, Texas. Seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Chandler, burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
